20 INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES FOR EVERYONE FROM IDEA WORLD FITNESS BLOGFEST 2018

20 INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES FOR EVERYONE FROM IDEA WORLD FITNESS BLOGFEST 2018

This year I attended my first ever Blogfest. This event coincides with the annual IDEA World Fitness Convention. Blogfest was two days of meeting & interacting with other bloggers, health and fitness professionals, and motivational speakers. I can't even begin to describe in words how inspired and motivated I felt after hearing so many like-minded people's stories, struggles, fears, motivations, downfalls, and success stories. The best way I can describe how I felt after arriving back to LA from Blogfest is by sharing these 20 inspirational quotes I wrote in my journal. These quotes don't specifically apply to bloggers or people exclusive to the health and fitness realm, all these quotes apply to each and everyone of us in everyday life. I hope you leave this post feeling just as inspired as me!

Idea World Blogfest 2018

1. "PERFECTIONISM IS JUST FEAR IN REALLY GOOD SHOES" -Petra Kolber

Reflection: Author of "The Perfection Detox", Petra Kolber, said this quote out loud and it is so crazy how this simple one sentence resonated so much. So many of us strive and nearly kill away all our good vibes and positive energy thriving to be perfect. People on social media and in actual life are afraid to present themselves in a way that doesn't appear to be perfect. The perfect caption, the perfect post, the perfect relationship. Eliminate FEAR and let the REAL YOU shine. Nothing is more true and sexy than your authentic self. Like Petra said "Deliver your imperfect message, more people relate to that."

2. "TO FALL IN LOVE WITH YOURSELF IS THE FIRST SECRET TO HAPPINESS" -Petra Kolber

Reflection: I have agreed with this statement for quite some time now. I am a firm believer in not being able to love someone fully unless you are fully in love and content with yourself and your life. How can you possibly give someone else your all if you are not even giving yourself your all?

3. "THE HAPPINESS OF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS UPON THE QUALITY OF YOUR THOUGHTS... THINK ACCORDINGLY" -Petra Kolber

Reflection: I am the queen of self-help books. Try me seriously, I think I have read them all! Just kidding but getting pretty close. I recently read a book called "Unfu*k Yourself"  and this book literally coaches you into changing the initial thoughts in your head. This book was written specifically to get you out of your head so that you can start living a full, happy life. Once you wrap your brain around how to change the thoughts in your subconscious you will feel so free to move forward in a "positive thoughts only" kind of way. Remember the happiness of your life depends on it.

4. "THE REASON WE STRUGGLE WITH INSECURITY IS BECAUSE WE COMPARE OUR BEHIND-THE-SCENES WITH EVERYONE ELSE'S HIGHLIGHT REEL" -Petra Kolber

Reflection: We are ALL guilty of this. Showing our highlight reel on social media. Because duh! Who shows photos of those late night breakdowns when we feel lonely and helpless? The answer is not many of us. BUT know that it is okay too. It is okay to show your highlight reel but consider sharing your story, your message, your journey, and how much time and hard work it took to get you to where you are now. Every couple of months I will do an Instagram Detox. And if I feel like someone is making me not feel good about myself or if I feel like someone is dishonest to the reason I followed them to begin with I just unfollow. I want to see real people, real stories, & real struggles, because that is what brings motivation and inspiration into my life. Trust me you will connect more to the TRUE STORY behind that Instagram.

5. "IF YOU ARE HAPPY THEN YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL" -Robert Holden

Idea World 2018 Keynote Speaker Robert Holden

Idea World 2018 Keynote Speaker Robert Holden

Reflection: I love this quote from the keynote speaker of Idea World Fest, Robert Holden. Everyone defines success differently. Some people define success with money and some people, like myself and Robert Holden define success by how happy we are. When I started working in Entertainment I always said it didn't matter how much money I made because if I was working a job I genuinely enjoyed doing and showing up for everyday then it was just like a bonus getting paid for it. As I got older I realized you have to still know your worth when it comes to your career and make sure you are not getting taken advantage of but the point is I don't need to be paid 6 figures for my job to be considered a success in my career. I look at each show I have produced and it makes me happy to see it completed and all put together and to me that is a success.

6. "PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU KNOW UNTIL YOU LET THEM KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CARE" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: The quote above came from celebrity host, trainer, and motivational speaker Heidi Powell. Her speech was by far the most moving and inspirational to my eyes and ears. I can easily sit here and choose to only blog for paid sponsorships about things I don't care about or products I don't use but the fact of the matter is my following really won't care and it won't have much of an impact on them...aka you! Why would you listen to what I have to say about something if you knew I had 0 passion or care for what I was talking about. Here is the example I will use. In the past I have blogged about Milk And Eggs Grocery Delivery Service. This is a company and brand that I work very closely with, that I believe in, and that I truly care about and love promoting because it genuinely betters my life in a million and one reasons. My following sees me post about this company and brand all the time and sees me unpacking my groceries and sharing grocery hauls. It is clear that I CARE about this brand. When people see how much I care about a brand suddenly what I KNOW about the brand becomes more credible and interesting. This is relevant to our relationships as well not just brands!

7. "BE UNAPOLOGETICALLY YOU!" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: How many times do we feel like there is that one voice coming from one ear telling us "Don't do it" "No one will read it" "No one will like it" "No one will care" . I can answer that. Probably multiple times every single day. Heidi made an incredible point with this quote. Talk about the REAL TOPICS you want to talk about. Post what YOU want to post not what someone is telling you to post or say. Don't try and please the people that don't like you. Stop focusing on reassurance from certain people or from certain amounts of likes and comments. BE YOU and DO YOU! It is so much more liberating, empowering, and impactful!

8. "COMPARISON IS THE THIEF OF JOY" -Heidi Powell

Had the pleasure to meet the incredible blogger & nutritionist Gigi Eats Celebrities

Reflection: JUST STOP DOING IT! Okay I KNOW it is easier said than done. OMG TRUST ME I KNOW. But seriously what are we really gaining from comparing ourselves to others? If anything we are doing nothing but LOSING and losing by a lot! Losing motivation, losing inspiration, losing our spark, losing interest, just plain old losing. It can be extremely difficult to use posts as motivation and inspiration versus using posts to compare body image, compare style, compare looks, compare careers, compare successes. Heidi said "The grass might be greener on the other side...because it is fake" Remember that. Stop comparing highlight reels. We don't always know the STORY behind it.

9. "STAY IN YOUR OWN DAM LANE" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: Heidi spoke about how important it is to have a PLAN. Along with a plan we need to FOCUS on what it is we are trying to accomplish. It is important to not bring too many things to the table at once. But rather focus on that one plan so that we can complete that plan with our full potential. I can relate to this so much because I PLAN a lot! But sometimes the PLANS backfire, especially when multiple plans are in place and I am giving a little to one plan and just giving what is left to the other plan. It can be difficult with all the anxieties and to-do lists running through our heads. But one thing at a time, one step at a time, one day at a time

10. "ZIG WHEN OTHERS ZAG" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: By far one of my favorite quotes from Blogfest! This quote is more or less saying set yourself apart from the rest! Pave the way. Post and do whatever it is that you are passionate about. Stand out and BE YOU

11. "EMBRACE FAILURE" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: When we do what is comfortable for us it is easy so sure we win but we do NOT GROW. This is why taking risks is so important. When we take risks there is a chance we will fail. But when we fail will we learn. Heidi shared a quote from one of my favorite movies "The Greatest Showman". "Comfort is the thief of progress" . This is so true. We will never progress and grow unless we take risks and do things out of our comfort zone. It is more than okay and acceptable to fail. You can get back up and make things right. Better to try and fail then to never try at all

12. "GET ON THE COURT!" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: Like Heidi said "You can't win unless you play the game". Get out there and do something. A few years ago I knew I wanted to do something more but I couldn't quite figure out what it was. I knew I always wanted to write a book but I didn't feel established enough yet and I felt there was a lot of story yet to come...and boy was I right on that one. Then I finally figured out that I wanted to start a blog. An open, public, honest place for me to write and say what I want and how I feel. I had said I would be happy if I made a difference in one person's life. For me making an impact on ONE PERSON is a WIN in my heart and mind. Had I never taken the chance and played the game, I would have never won

13. "WRITE, SHARE, AND ACT AS IF A MILLION PEOPLE ARE WATCHING YOUR WORK" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: Regardless of whether a million people are watching your work know that it is making an impact for someone out there. Heidi quoted Lady Gaga saying "I always knew I was famous, I was waiting on the world to see it". Stay confident in yourself and in your work. Someone is watching

14. "NEVER GET TOO BIG FOR YOUR PEOPLE... NO MATTER WHAT!" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: At the end of the day if you make it big in terms of power, money, or fame remember that more than likely you were one of your people at some point in time. Be grateful and have gratitude for how successful you have become. Respond to as many people as you can! Engage, respond, and interact with all those people that have showed you support up until this point!

15. "BE A LIFELONG LEARNER" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: "You don't know what you don't know". This quote is exactly why you should be open to learning new things every single day. For me my blog alone is a constant, non-stop learning experience. I am always finding out new things to do to spruce up my blog and I love that! It is so exciting to discover something I never knew before. Don't ever get in the mindset that you are all-knowing because none of us are!

16. "LISTEN TO YOUR DOUBTERS" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: Heidi spoke about how we all freak out and become so discouraged when we see one negative comment on an Instagram post. We freak out so much that we tend to overlook all the positive things people had to say. The best thing we can do is listen to our doubters. Why? Because they bring a whole new perspective to the table! As for our positive commenters and followers? No worries there... they will always have your back and rally behind you! Remember that you have a support system!

17. "JUST SAY NO!" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: "Sometimes the best opportunities you take are the ones you don't take." Heidi spoke about how we should never take opportunities out of desperation. Before I moved to LA I made sure to save enough money to live comfortably in the event I went an entire year without finding any work. I did this because I never wanted to have to take a job out of desperation. I wanted to work on projects that I was passionate about, not projects that I had to do and had no interest or passion in all because I needed a paycheck. Do it for the passion not for the paycheck

18. "HUSTLE! GRIND! BUT DON'T GRIND YOURSELF INTO THE GROUND" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: Self-care baby! This is so important otherwise the truth of the matter is you will run out of gas. Heidi says to do one thing that is beneficially selfish. She says to do this because ultimately everyone will benefit from you doing this. Make sure to check in with yourself and how your mind feels at the end of each day. It might be time to take a little break. Only YOU KNOW WHAT YOU NEED.

19. "GIVE BACK!" -Heidi Powell

Reflection: This has always been something that I find to be very important. Paying it forward. One way I always pay it forward is by replying to any LinkedIn messages I receive. Sometimes it may take me longer to respond than other times but I ALWAYS respond whether it is to give advice, help someone with a potential job, or set up a phone call to chat. I make it a point to do this because I got my very first job in Entertainment from one person replying to my one message. From there my career flourished and went places I never imagined possible! It truly does only take one person to change your life or make a drastic difference! Below are some of the incredible brands that gave back to us bloggers at Blogfest

20. "ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT YOU'RE JUST 3 FEET AWAY FROM GOLD"

Reflection: I saved the best for last. This specific quote was exactly what I needed to hear when I was at Blogfest. Heidi Powell said "When we want to give up the most are the closest to a break through." And she couldn't have been more accurate. I thought about how the first part of this year hadn't really gone my way. Then right when I was almost completely out of hope and ready to give up I found out I got two new jobs that I really really wanted and had been manifesting for a very long time. BREAKDOWNS always lead to BREAKTHROUGHS
